Do both parties that are on the registration/finance have to be present when selling a car?

Lue Podewils: Absolutely NOT!!What makes you think that your signature carries more importance than hers when you both signed the loan? You are equal partners in the contract. Neither one of you have more responsibility for this then the other. You can not sell the car without her consent, you don't own it, you BOTH own it. If she defaults on the loan you will have to pay and at that point she may consent, but you can't steal the car and sell it without her signature....Show more
