My first car ???

David Boehler: You need to find out how much your budget is, how much you can spend to buy this car.Your first car will need to be cheap and old so it'll not be too expensive to insure. Insurance is VERY high for first time teenage drivers. If you get into an accident, your car will cost a ton to fix and your insurance will go up to Mt. Everest, so my best suggestion to you is to get a car around $3000 or less, probably a late '90s Honda Civic/Accord or Toyota Camry/Corolla, those cars are VERY reliable and fuel efficient....Show more

Toya Braskett: I agree with the previous answers of sitting down and figuring out exactly what your budget is, and make sure you stick to it when buying a car. You will probably find less expensive cars through private buyers, but no warranty. Dealerships may offer limited warranty's on a vehicle, and that may help cover any future costs......Read consumers reports on different types of vehicles you may be interested in.....some cars ! are more expensive to fix if they break..IE. VW.......some cars are known for certain problems once they hit certain mileage so try and gain some knowledge in that area. There is def. more room in pre-owned cars for negotiations, so don't be afraid to offer a bit less than what they are asking. Ask to see a car faq report, as well as the service report from when they did their safety inspection. If I can be of further assistance, please feel free to email me. I hope this helps!...Show more

Joeann Hoyt: I would suggest not spending anywhere near $15,000 on your very first car. Statistically speaking, there is a fairly good probability that you will wreck it at least once. I'd go buy a solid used $5000-$6000 car to learn on with the budget you have.If you do end up beating the odds and you keep the car in good condition, you can always sell it later or trade it in and add the $10,000 you saved to put toward a really nice car later once you've got some experience ! driving....Show more

Cornelius Thornborrow: My parent ca! n afford a car around 15000, which means it can be up to 16000-17000, or less. By the way, can you give the approximate cost of insurance for teen ?

Deangelo Marchak: Get something safe, that performs decently well, and reliable. The best bet would be something like an 03 Honda Accord coupe. You can find them for $15K with decent miles.

Adrian Paraz: If you are looking to buy a new car you should defiantly look on Craig’s list. That have a huge selection of cars in all different areas. You can search exactly what type of car you are looking for and in what price range you want to spend. Craig’s list has both Privet deals, and dealerships. I already bought two cars on the website. I was able to see search the exact car I wanted., and contact the person to go look at it. If you only have a certain amount of money to spend, you can compare and contrast several cars on the website before decided which one to buy. If you want to search for the cars on ther! e, just go to the website , choose the area closes to you and select “Cars and Trucks” under buying and selling. Good Luck!...Show more

Craig Virani: You'll get all kinds of advice on a question like this. It's best to take the time to learn on your own so that you can make your own decisions. Here's a web site that might help get you started:http://www.firstcarguide.com....Show more
